Introducing Eagle Action
Good Afternoon,
This is Molly McCann Sanders, President of Eagle Forum Education & Legal and our newly rebranded 501(c)(4) Eagle Action. You are getting this message because you indicated an interest in hearing our news about Eagle Action!
I have exported your email here to our Substack account, where, I hope, you will remain to keep in touch with our organization. We sent out our press release last week announcing the rebrand of Eagle Action, and I am sharing it below in case you did not see it (it might be in your spam box).
Before I do, though, I want to introduce myself a little more. This month, I recorded and shared this video below on Eagle Forum Education & Legal’s social media profiles. It gives a brief overview of my history with Phyllis Schlafly and the Eagles, which is as applicable to Eagle Action as it is to Eagle Forum Education & Legal.
Here on Substack, I will be sharing a weekly newsletter—The Eagle Brief—with the news items I think are important as well as updates from our organization. As discussed below, I have big dreams for both Eagle Forum Education & Legal and Eagle Action. By subscribing to our mailing list here on Substack (no subscription fee), you are already helping to propel us forward.
Thank you for being here!
And now to the press release.
PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
10 Years After Phyllis Schlafly Endorsed Donald Trump, Her America First 501(c)(4) Relaunches With New Branding
February 9th—Clayton, Missouri. As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Phyllis Schlafly’s historic endorsement of Donald J. Trump in 2016, the America First 501(c)(4) Phyllis created in 2016 is relaunching as Eagle Action. Molly McCann Sanders, the recently elected President of Eagle Forum Education & Legal, will helm both organizations—as Phyllis did—to create cohesive leadership between the 501(c)(3) and the 501(c)(4).
Phyllis’s MAGA Legacy
Phyllis Schlafly’s final political triumph was her endorsement of Donald J. Trump on March 11, 2016, at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis, Missouri. Her blessing shifted a large segment of the socially conservative base to support Trump, ultimately handing him the White House. On the eve of his first inauguration, during a gala event at Union Station in Washington, D.C., President Trump paid tribute to Phyllis in his public remarks, thanking her for her bravery in helping him win.
Phyllis formed Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagles that year—a 501(c)(4) to continue her legacy and to operate in a new political environment—a MAGA-Republican Party in the Age of Trump. Now, ten years after that historic endorsement, Phyllis’s 501(c)(4) will be renamed Eagle Action, as we recommit to the foundational principles espoused by Phyllis and apply them to a new political landscape. Eagle Action will continue the mission Phyllis began—to keep God, Family, and Country at the heart of the MAGA movement.
Mrs. Sanders: “Phyllis was very pro-Trump, and her influence was, perhaps, the critical factor Trump needed in 2016 to shift enough of the socially conservative base to support his nomination. As the Republican Party transitioned to the MAGA Party, it would have benefited greatly from Phyllis’s continued guidance. No matter the issue—and Phyllis’s range of issues was extensive—you could count on her and her organization to be the voice for the socially conservative. She brought her values to every front in the fight to save America, and she never wavered. President Trump praised Phyllis for that commitment.
“As we relaunch her 501(c)(4) with the new name, Eagle Action, it is my mission to carry on the work Phyllis was focused on in 2016, shortly before her passing. Always the brilliant political mind, Phyllis had embraced Donald Trump and his America First agenda and was ready to promote the movement and champion her moral convictions within the Party.
“Today, I invite you to join Eagle Action. This organization will be a home for the grassroots who are firmly behind the President, supporting the America First movement, and also adhere to the social issues Phyllis defended.”
New Board Member
Eagle Action is delighted to welcome Jillian Gribbin to the board. Mrs. Gribbin is a wife and mother living in Virginia. She is a granddaughter of Paul Weyrich, an influential conservative leader in the Reagan era and co-founder of the Heritage Foundation. Mrs. Gribbin is engaged in the political process, including publicly advocating against men in women’s sports.
Mrs. Sanders: “I have known Jillian and her family for many years, and I am so happy she is willing to join the board of Eagle Action to guide this next chapter of our Eagle history. Jillian is a beautiful wife and mother and smart as a whip on politics. Phyllis’s organization was full of homemakers who understood the stakes and were moved to fight for freedom and for their children’s future. We are honored to have Mrs. Gribbin’s guidance building that kind of motivated membership base again.
